Throughout the year, a limited number of scholarships are available to cover all or part of tuition to various Criminal Law Defense Institutes including KACDL Seminars and Conferences. These vary from year to year and are subject to Board approval.

Once approved, scholarship opportunities are posted here and on the KACDL Calendar of Events. Please check back here often as the application process does include deadlines.

2019 NCDC: The KACDL board is proud to announce that it has selected Julia T. Mudd with the Louisville Metro Public Defender’s Office (LMPD) as this year’s NCDC/TPI Scholarship recipient. Ms. Mudd has practiced criminal defense law for almost 12 years, primarily as a public defender, and she currently serves as an Adult Trial Division supervisor at LMPD.  Over the years she has proven to be an aggressive, effective advocate for the interests of her clients, and she is known and respected for her legal knowledge, trial skills and professionalism. We are confident that her attendance at this year’s TPI will be mutually beneficial for her, for NCDC and for the criminal defense community. We are proud that she will be representing the Commonwealth of Kentucky at this premier national training event.
