Firm owner and trial attorney, Anthony Putman, began his legal career as a litigator at the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy in Boone County where he represented more than 1,000 indigent clients in the Commonwealth. Anthony earned a reputation as a zealous advocate for his clients, gained extensive trial experience, and is known for successful motion practice. Anthony was selected to the DPA team co-authoring the newest manual on bail in the Commonwealth in 2019. Prior to opening the Lawyer Up Firm, Anthony moved into private practice as an associate attorney with a local firm where he continued his successful criminal trial practice including “not guilty” verdicts in several jury trials from DUI’s to an acquittal in an attempted murder case in Boone County, KY.

Anthony earned his law degree from Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, as well as his bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University. He began honing his skills as a trial attorney by competing on the NKU Mock Trial teams where he won several awards for his performance as a top student attorney. Anthony served as student counsel in the Kentucky Innocence Project and with the Ohio Justice & Policy Center where he tried a case against the Ohio Dept. of Rehabilitation & Corrections. Anthony came to NKU as a non-traditional student, after high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served his country throughout the world. Upon completion of the military, Anthony worked in the corporate world for several years where he gained vast business experience. Anthony’s diverse life experience is a great benefit to his practice of law. Anthony is passionate about justice and fighting for his clients.

Anthony was mentored in immigration law by one of the most prominent immigration attorneys in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky metro and has a passion for immigration law that was developed through his international travels and love of meeting people from different places and different cultures.
Anthony resides in Ohio with his wife, has a son in college, he is an avid sports fan, and loves traveling internationally with his family. Anthony’s law practice areas are criminal, immigration, and civil.
