This presentation will touch on a fairly broad overview of the basics of forfeiture laws in Kentucky and in federal courts as well as strategies litigants may use in defending against those actions.

Biography: Ben’s practice focuses on litigation and appellate advocacy, with a particular emphasis on state and federal criminal defense and first amendment litigation. Ben’s previous legal experience includes serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Justice William S. Cooper of the Kentucky Supreme Court and as an intern for the Honorable James Todd, United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
Over his almost-twenty years of practice, Ben has successfully tried several cases to jury and bench trials across the Commonwealth. He has also participated in numerous hearings before several Kentucky administrative agencies. Ben lives in Lexington with his wife and two boys. He also remains active in his community and serves on the boards of several charitable organizations. On January 31, 2020, Governor Beshear appointed Ben to serve on the board of the Kentucky Environmental Education Council.
